Annette Christine Klappauf
Annette Christine Klappauf, born on September 18, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 1, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, warmth, and vibrancy. Annette's magnetic personality and infectious energy made her a cherished presence to everyone blessed to know her.
Known for her fun-loving spirit and boundless creativity, Annette was often the life of the party with her killer dance moves and wonderful sense of humor. She found immense happiness in reading, swimming, camping, gardening, sewing, cheering on the Chicago White Sox and soaking up joyful, sun-filled days at the beach. Her love for animals was almost as profound as her love for her children and siblings, endearing her to many.
Annette’s heart belonged first and foremost to her family. She is reunited in peace with her parents, Jeanette and Richard, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mark; her cherished children, Ashley (Alex), Jason (Olivia), and Suzy (Chris); her sister, Wendy (Mark) and nephew Jackson; and her brother Rich (Jacqui). She also leaves behind deep, lifelong bonds with her childhood friend Martha and her daughter Anna, as well as dear friends Katy, Steve, and their daughter Grace.
She will be remembered as the absolute best daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, co-worker and friend. While no words can capture every story or joyful memory, the sunlight, friendship, and unconditional love she brought into the world remain her lasting gift.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Oncology Team.
