Benedict “Bud” Zoodsma, 89, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Born on December 15, 1935, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Bud lived a long and joyful life grounded in faith, family, and love for others.

Bud, an independent life insurance agent, had a devotion to God that guided every part of his life. He spent several years ministering with Wycliffe Bible Translators, raising financial support for their mission work around the world. Over the years, he was active in many church communities, always eager to serve and encourage others in their faith. In his later years, Bud was a devoted member of First Baptist Orlando, where his faith continued to shine. His favorite saying,

"God is good all the time; all the time, God is good,"

beautifully reflected the faith that shaped his every day.

Bud had a gift for uplifting those around him. He made everyone feel valued and loved, often reminding people they had a “million-dollar smile.” His warmth, kindness, and encouragement were constants in his relationships with family, friends, and his community.

A man of many passions, Bud loved music, time on the water, and supporting pro-life causes. His love for singing was well known—he performed in church choirs and barbershop competitions, where his rich voice and joyful spirit inspired others.

Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy, his three children, Cyndi Fitcher, Cheri (Shawn) Molina, and Kenny (Amanda) Zoodsma. He was a proud grandfather to Harrison (Haylee) Fitcher, Drew Maxwell, Erica (Jacob) Servin, Carter and Natalie Zoodsma, and great-grandfather to Cali and Ella Fitcher. Family was the greatest joy of his life, and his love for them will forever remain their foundation.

If remembered for one thing, Bud would want it to be his love for God and family, and for the countless lives he touched with his compassion and faith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bud’s memory to Life Choices Medical Clinic, 441 Maitland Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 (www.lifechoicesflcares.com).
