Bobbie Jean Wilburn
Bobbie Jean Wilburn, 76, died on May 28, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky. A woman often described as feisty, giving, and dazzling, Bobbie lived her life with unmistakable spirit and determination.
Bobbie had a true passion for hair and devoted herself to making people feel beautiful. For her, it was never just about styling—it was about connection. She offered her clients not only her talent, but also a listening ear and genuine conversation. Known for her “gift of gab,” Bobbie truly never met a stranger. Even a quick trip to the grocery store could turn into an hour-long visit, as she delighted in talking with everyone she encountered. Her strong drive carried her through life; she never gave up, and those who knew her believed there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. Among her proudest accomplishments was raising her daughters to be strong women who give positivity back into the world, a legacy that meant more to her than any other achievement.
The most important people in Bobbie’s life were her husband, Ben; her daughters, Tonya (Jeff Bailey) and Cindy (Jason McCulley); her beloved grandchildren, Lyndsey, Spencer, Becca, Corona, Caimen, and Chance; and her great-grandson, Connor. She also cherished her cat, Abby, who brought her comfort and companionship. Bobbie’s family remembers her strength, her laughter, and her unwavering determination, as well as the countless conversations and connections that filled her days.
If she could be remembered for one thing, it would be her open heart and her love of people. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bobbie’s memory to Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte, Florida. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Tidewell for providing care in her final moments. Bobbie’s legacy lives on in the strength of her family and in the many lives she brightened with her conversation, kindness, and unmistakable spark.
