Bruce Vinion

Bruce Edward Vinion passed away surrounded by family and friends at hospice in Port Charlotte, FL on July 23, 2025, at the age of 77.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years Gracie; his sister Carole (Terry) McTigue, nephew Terrance (Patti) McTigue, nieces Stacie (Sean) Butler and Angela Pepe; close friend Kevin Brown, whom Bruce and Gracie considered part of their immediate family. Bruce was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Louise Drescher.

Bruce was born in Youngstown, OH and graduated from Youngstown State University. Early in his career, he worked as a teacher, moved into Human Resources at Standard Steel in Lewistown, PA and then found a passion for wealth management. He worked for a few of the major houses, then enjoyed success when he opened his own firm with Marva King, a close friend and business partner of over 38 years.

Bruce was an accomplished musician who played the organ. He played his way through college at night clubs in Youngstown. Bruce was a winter resident of Punta Gorda, FL and enjoyed boating. Bruce had always owned a boat from age 16 until his passing. Bruce also enjoyed camping during summers in Pennsylvania and was affectionately called “Mother Bruce” for his sage advice to the younger generation campers at the campground where he was a member. Bruce was active at camp, using his creativity to produce skits for many talent shows over the years.  Bruce and his friends would gather on his porch and carryon until the wee hours having so much fun.

Bruce was also an avid dog lover having enjoyed the companionship of many pets over the years.

Celebrations of Bruce’s life will be announced shortly and will be held in Florida and Pennsylvania.

It was Bruce’s wish to be cremated and have his ashes spread from his boat. Two of Bruce’s companions, Sydney and Treasure, both English Springer Spaniels will join Bruce in having their ashes spread.
