On June 27, 2025, Randy Blanchard arrived at the pearly gates just as he lived his life—without a shirt and ready to help someone else. He was the kind of man who would give you his last dime and the shirt off his back. Generous, kind-hearted, and full of humor, Randy made everyone feel special through his genuine presence and warm spirit.

Born on August 1, 1963, in Sulphur, Louisiana, to James and Wanda Blanchard, Randy grew up in Sulphur and later proudly joined the U.S. Army, an experience he held close to his heart.

Randy married Darla at an early age, and together they had a son, Christopher Blanchard, who became the pride and joy of his life.

Professionally, Randy built a respected career in aviation. He worked for various companies on commercial jets, private aircraft for Sheiks, and played a key role in installing Wi-Fi on many of the planes people fly on today.

He had an infectious laugh, a heart for others, and a unique ability to connect with anyone—Randy never met a stranger. He was a devoted LSU football fan and made it a point to attend a game whenever he returned to Southwest Louisiana. He also loved to fish and simply loved being around people.

Randy was living in Tampa, Florida, at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his beloved son, Christopher Blanchard; his mother, Wanda Tackett, and stepfather, Roland Tackett; his stepmother, Elsie Blanchard; his sister, Cherie (Pos) Kyle; and brothers Doug (Lorie) Blanchard and Ronnie (Bonnie) Petree. He is also remembered by his Aunt Shirley Bruchhaus, nieces Courtney (Buddy) Miller, Heather (George) Domit, Michelle (Derrick) Watts, Hannah, and Whitney Petree; nephews Colby (Rachel) Kyle and Levi (Deanna) Petree; and great-nieces and nephews: Camille Miller, Magnolia Allen, Brayden Kyle, Bryce Kyle, Ledger Watts, Asher Watts, and Bruer Savell.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, James Blanchard, his paternal grandparents, Doug and Agnes Blanchard, and his maternal grandparents, Sidney and Ethel Petree. He was also mourned by many dear friends who were like family.

Randy was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. He had a way of laughing with you—and at himself, like the time he asked Lori to stop for a hamburger on the way to a picnic or when Doug joked about Randy combing the last two hairs on his head with pride.

Randy was cremated, and his remains have been sent to the West Coast to be with his son, Christopher.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks for your prayers and support. Randy was raised in a strong Christian home, and he would want you to remember:

"With God, all things are possible."
