Cynthia C. Simon, born on June 16, 1948, in Staunton, Virginia, passed away on August 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and support. Known fondly as Cindy, she devoted much of her life to her church and community, embodying a spirit that was truly welcoming and inclusive.Cindy's deep commitment to service was evident in the many roles she played at Orlando Baptist Church. She was a nurturing presence, whether she was preparing meals, maintaining the sanctuary, or reaching out to senior adults with heartfelt calls and visits. Her dedication extended to serving families and children at community events, reflecting her passion for connecting with those around her. A defining characteristic of Cindy was her natural ability to make everyone feel like a friend; she truly didn’t know a stranger.Family was central to Cindy’s life. She cherished her children, David Wells of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Joe Lusk of Fort Myers, Florida, as well as her grandsons, Michael Wells of Lakeland, Florida, and Mason Lusk of Fort Myers, Florida. She is survived by her brothers Harry Cline of Manville, Rhode Island, Richard (Tammy) Cline of Loganville,Georgia, and Dennis (Janene) Cline of Arcadia, Florida, as well as her sisters Terry (John) Dale of Temple, Texas, Tina (Steve) Caldwell of Lake Placid, Florida, and Tammy (George) Hill of Arcadia, Florida and a number of nieces and nephews. Her connections with family and friends were the heart of her life.The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Cindy's church family, friends, hospital staff, and caregivers for their unwavering support and prayers during her final days. Cindy’s legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her, as she leaves behind a community touched by her generous spirit.
