Daniel Richard Bauer
It is with immense sorrow and heartbreak that his family announces the passing of Daniel Richard Bauer, age 45, on August 30, 2026, after a brief and intense battle with cancer at Boca Regional Hospital. He departed this life surrounded by those who loved him.
Born on July 22, 1981, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Dan was the son of Leslie Gene Bauer and the late Constance Lee Bauer, both of Butler, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his beloved wife Jesse, his step-children Wyatt and Clementine, his father Leslie Gene Bauer, his sister Lezley Bauer Hsiao, brother-in-law Bernie, two nieces Seraphina and Anneliese, and his two faithful rescue dogs, Sylas and Noodle.
Known for his determination, steadfastness, and compassion, Dan's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication and love for those around him. He not only embraced the Christian concept of agape love, he lived it daily through his selfless, unconditional acts of kindness to help others. To his wife Jesse, he was known as her rock and her protector. His sister describes him as a gentle giant, with a heart bigger than he was. All agree he gave the best great big bear hugs.
Dan's interests were as varied as they were deep. He had a passion for building and fixing, imparted by his father, which led to his impressive knowledge and skill in mechanics. He was constantly driven to work on projects that challenged both his mind and hands. He also enjoyed music, was a talented saxophonist, and loved camping and spending time in the great outdoors.
A proud Eagle Scout, Dan credited his Boy Scout experience for instilling in him the lifelong values of leadership and service. After achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle, Dan remained dedicated to the Scouting community, volunteering as a youth leader to inspire the next generation.
Those who knew and worked with Dan will tell you he was a natural leader. Professionally, his commitment and hard work led him to climb the ranks in business, earning the titles of CEO and VP of Operations in insurance brokerages, marking significant milestones in his career. He was well-respected by his colleagues and employees.
To know Dan was to love him, and those who loved him most will remember his generous heart, quick wit, and his steadfast loyalty to his family and the light he brought into their lives.
The family wishes to thank the Boca Regional ICU staff for the kindness and quality of care they provided in Dan’s final days. In accordance with his wishes, a private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
