Debra Ann Mahanna, 77, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2026. Born on March 13, 1949, in St. Louis, Debra built a life defined by radiant positivity, fierce loyalty, and a deep love for the people around her. A graduate of St. Louis University, she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Master of Science in Anatomy, accomplishments that reflected her intelligence, discipline, and lifelong commitment to learning.

Known to most as “Debbie,” she had a rare gift for finding the silver lining in every situation. Even when plans unraveled or challenges arose, she met them with grit, determination, and an unwavering belief that something good could still emerge. She listened in a way that made others feel like the most important person in the room, never criticizing to elevate herself and never too busy to adjust her plans for someone in need. Stylish and elegant, she was known for her love of beautiful clothes and shoes. Debbie loved to travel, cruise, tend her garden, play pinochle and sudoku, admire art, window shop, and gather for long brunches with friends. She was a generous hostess, a famously enthusiastic bartender, and always ready for a good time, especially if chocolate chip cookies were involved.

Family was her heart. She was the devoted wife of S. Albert Mahanna Jr.; loving mother to Rachele (Jon) Bowman, Elizabeth Mahanna and S. Albert Mahanna III (Jennifer Mathieu); and cherished grandmother to Rachelle, Vera, and Marcus Gabrielli. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Rachele, and her parents, H. Joseph and Delpha Brady. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis Brady, Kenton Brady (Terri Buhr) and Christine (John) Thomas. Debbie adored her family, treated every child as a special angel, and made each friend feel uniquely treasured.

A faithful member of St. Raymond’s Maronite Catholic Church and the Order of St. Sharbel, Debbie’s life reflected the Holy Spirit. Visitation will be held at St. Raymond Maronite Cathedral on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00 a.m. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Scott Paulson for his expertise, care, and love in giving Debra many additional years of quality life. She will be remembered for finding joy in the moment and for showing all who knew her that hope can be discovered, even in the unexpected.

Inlieu of flowers please consider a donation to CCARE Lynch at www.fightlynch.org in Debra’s name.
