Denise Herling
Denise Herling was born on August 4, 1964, in Long Island, New York, and died on June 20, 2026. Though her time on this earth is marked by those dates, the life she lived in between was defined by remarkable strength, determination, and a beauty that radiated from within.
Denise was known first and foremost as a family-oriented life coach and teacher, offering guidance not through titles or accolades, but through example. She had a gift for deep, meaningful conversation and was someone who listened without judgment. Those who sought her out found encouragement, honesty, and steady reassurance. She often reminded her loved ones, “You can do anything,” words that reflected her unwavering belief in the people around her. With a touch of humor, she would also say, “You are giving me agida,” a phrase that became part of the family’s shared language and laughter.
Her greatest joy was her family. She shared an enduring bond with her ex-husband, Fred Herling; her best friend, Toni Flaherty; and her sister, Patty. She was a devoted mother to Alex Herling, Kenneth Herling, and Jennifer Herling, and her love only multiplied with her grandchildren and great-grandbaby, who were the light of her life. Denise found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—baking for those she loved, collecting treasured items, and capturing moments through photography. She also adored her pets, Piglet, Lester, and Tank, who held a special place in her heart. Among the many memories she leaves behind are her heartfelt conversations and the unforgettable moment when a dart board went tumbling in the wind, a story that still brings smiles.
If Denise could be remembered for one thing, it would be the power and strength she carried no matter what she faced. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice nurses, as well as to their family and friends, for their love and support during this time. Denise’s legacy lives on in the resilience, compassion, and deep love she instilled in those closest to her.
