Donald “Mike” Davies

Donald Baxter “Mike” Davies (fondly known as Pop to his grandchildren) 84, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 8, 2026.  He was born on January 2, 1942, to the late Donald T. Davies and Catherine B. Davies in Pennsylvania.

Mike and his family relocated to Baltimore Maryland when he was a young teen. He graduated in 1959, from Milford Mill High School and attended University of Maryland, College Park, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964.

At the University of Maryland, he was a proud member of and served a term as President for the Theta Chi Fraternity where he forged lifelong friendships. He also served as President of the Kalegethos Society at College Park which is an honorary society that recognizes outstanding seniors for their contributions of the Greek community at U of M.  

Mike married his childhood sweetheart, Judith Anton, in 1963.  They shared their love of their family; competitive sports, especially tennis, and their interest in bridge among many other social pursuits.  Mike was a dedicated business man and in the late 1970’s through the 1990’s Mike co-owned a cryogenic and welding supply company in Baltimore Maryland, and went on to own Henry Albert Plumbing and Heating in the 2000’s before selling and moving to Florida.  While living in Maryland, Mike was an active member, especially on the tennis courts, of Baltimore Country Club.

Moving from Baltimore to Naples Florida in 2000, Mike and Judy led an active social life and took pleasure living in Pelican Marsh.  Mike spent much of his time playing competitive tennis and organizing his team’s competitive play.  He excelled in duplicate bridge, winning many tournaments in Florida and achieving Life Master status.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Davies, and his three children Christopher Davies, Anne Davies and her husband Ardian Muça; Megan Staczek and her husband Eric Staczek; and by his grandchildren Madelyn “Maddie” Staczek and Luke Staczek.  He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Biviano, her husband David, his brother Bruce Davies and his wife, Helen and sister in law, Nancy Davies, wife of his late brother, Robert Davies.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held Monday, February 16th from 1PM - 3PM at The Pelican Marsh Community Center Restaurant, Courtside, located at 1504 Pelican Marsh Boulevard, Naples, FL 34109.
