With love and remembrance, we announce the passing of Eileen Rita Berger on May 6, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 17, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, Eileen lived a full and spirited life, remembered for her wit, strength, and unmistakable personality.
Eileen had a passion for poker, whether she was watching on TV or playing in casinos or in clubs. She also enjoyed shopping and crocheting, hobbies that brought her joy and gave her a way to express care for others. She was best known for her time working in bar tending, where her humor and strong presence made her unforgettable to patrons and coworkers alike.
She was preceded in death by her sister Loraine, brother Irvin, and her beloved children: daughters Sandie Castle and Leslie, and sons John and Matthew.
Eileen was never afraid to speak her mind. A favorite memory shared by a loved one was when she said, "You never told me what I wanted to hear," perfectly capturing her frankness and sense of humor.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her niece, her niece's husband, and all who knew her.
Eileen passed peacefully following complications related to acute pneumonia and chronic heart failure.
Her memory will live on through every story shared, every hand of poker played, and every laugh sparked by remembering her unapologetic charm.
