In Loving Memory of Gail M. Yost

Gail M. Yost, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a beautiful life filled with family, friendship, dancing, and countless cherished memories.

Gail was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 12th, 1939. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Following graduation, Gail moved to Ohio, where she taught for Franklin City Schools for 30 years. Teaching was a meaningful part of her life, and she took great pride in the time she spent working with children. One of her greatest joys was collecting primitive antiques and decorating her home that she adored.

Following her retirement, Gail made her home in Sarasota, Florida, where she enjoyed an active and energetic social life. She loved jitterbug dancing and would often spend several evenings a week dancing at various venues throughout the Sarasota area. She also enjoyed spending time with friends at her community pool. She was the life of the party telling her funny stories in her southern accent. She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying history books and stories about English History and The Civil War.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eunice McKeehan, and her husband, Robert Yost.

She is survived by her children, Leslie Markijohn, Suzanne Werk, and Coree Werk; her grandchildren, Katie (Sean) Firlotte, Christopher Markijohn, and Tyler Barnes; and her great granddaughter Bethany Markijohn.

Gail wished to be cremated, with her ashes spread on Siesta Key and in the Gulf of America, places that held special meaning to her.

Rather than flowers, Gail's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating her vibrant life on her 87th birthday. Guests are invited to bring their favorite covered dish and enjoy an afternoon of lunch, dancing, laughter, and memories in Gail's honor.

Gail lived a radiant life and touched the hearts of many. Her family hopes that those who knew and loved her will remember her with a smile, share a story, enjoy a dance, and celebrate the wonderful woman she was.

May she rest peacefully, and may the music and dancing continue.
