Gary Tyler
Gary Tyler passed away on May 11, 2025, at the age of 72. He was known for being generous, stubborn, and sincere, and for always enjoying a good conversation – especially if it involved a little friendly debate.
For over 30 years, Gary worked as a part honer at Richard's Manufacturing, helping produce precision components for Sikorsky helicopters. He took pride in his work and in doing things the right way. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing, music, and sharing laughs and stories with close friends.
He was a proud member of the American Legion, Elks Club, and Moose Lodge. He also enjoyed tying flies for fishing, and later began making earrings for friends at the Legion – just one small example of how he showed care in everyday ways.
Gary learned how to cook from his mother, and once the family realized how good he was at it, they didn’t want to eat anyone else’s meals. His fish stew, made from his own catches, became a family favorite. His granddaughter Kristin said it was best when he started living on his own because she got awesome meals with her Papa.
He is survived by his daughters Kim Walker and Tracy Tyler, and his son David DuBail-Tyler. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Kristin Tyler, Samantha Tyler, Willow Forbes, Hannah Walker, Hailee Walker, Ava Young, David DuBail Jr. and Connor Forbes; and his great-granddaughter, Luna Colón. He will be dearly missed by his best friends Gary Rosenberg, Glenn Heavens, Gary Sheppard, and Mark Anderson, as well as all of his friends at the Legion.
He was a phenomenal father and grandfather and loved us as much as we loved him. He was beyond loved by those who knew him.
