Helene Marie Szulc

Helene Marie Szulc, 88, died on June 25, 2026. She was born on June 7, 1938, in Hunington, New York, and built a life defined by devotion to her family and a generous spirit toward others. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose care for those around her shaped the legacy she leaves behind.

Helene was known as a concerned, caring, and giving person, always willing to help someone in need. She gave her time to church and community events and was a member of the Daytona Beach Palmetto Women’s Club. She was married for 34 years, a milestone she held with pride. In her everyday life, she found joy in simple pleasures: playing bingo, traveling, shopping, watching game shows, and working on word search puzzles. Wherever she went, she had a remarkable way of making people laugh and smile. No matter the occasion, she always had a funny remark or story to share, leaving behind countless cherished memories filled with laughter.

The most important people in Helene’s life were her daughter, Darlene; her three grandchildren, Derek, Kendall, and Rachel; her granddaughter-in-law, Sarah; and her great-grandson, JT. She treasured her role in each of their lives and took pride in watching her family grow. She also adored her chihuahuas—Coco, Willie, and Jack—who loved her devotedly and were constant companions in her home.

Helene will be remembered for her giving, loving, and funny nature, and for the warmth and encouragement she offered so freely. Her family carries forward the lessons of kindness and humor she demonstrated so naturally.
