James Charles “Jim” O’Neill
James Charles “Jim” O’Neill passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 11, 2026. Born in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, Jim was the son of James and Regina (Cahill) O’Neill. He was the brother of the late Regina Richardson (Joe), Kathleen Dwyer (Jack), and Margaret Castagna (Lou).
Jim had an accomplished career in computer software and retired as the Executive Vice President of Harleysville Insurance Company. “Family First” was his motto, and some of his fondest memories were made on 28th Street in Ocean City, New Jersey, where Jim opened his home each summer for extended family gatherings. His retirement years were spent in Sarasota, Florida, where he formed many lifelong friendships within the Heritage Oaks community.
Jim always had a bright mind and was constantly learning, sharing history lessons, cheering on his beloved Phillies and Eagles, and always ready for a winning game of poker.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Judith O’Neill, of 33 years; his three children, Maureen Blue, James O’Neill Jr. (Tara), and Kathleen O’Neill; and his former wife, Mary O’Neill. He cherished his role as “Pop Pop” and shared a special bond with each of his grandchildren, Bridgett Blue Marvill (Adam), Brendan Blue, Willem McGee, and Ryann McGee, as well as his great-grandchildren, Jasper Marvill and Maclan Marvill.
He is also survived by his brother, Gerald O’Neill (Margaret Mary), along with many loving nephews, nieces, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
