James Christopher Carteris

James Christopher Carteris, 55, died on July 19, 2026. He was born on February 23, 1971, in Lynn, Massachusetts. James will be remembered as a loving, caring, and outgoing man whose presence brought warmth and energy to those around him.

James had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He found freedom on his motorcycle, joy in discovering new foods, and peace in watching a sunset at the end of the day. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family. Known for his romantic heart, his humor, and his kindness, James also carried a playful streak and a sense of silliness that kept those closest to him smiling. He believed deeply that “Life is too short. Don’t worry about the past or future, let us focus on the now,” and he lived those words each day—taking nothing for granted and embracing life one day at a time.

Family was at the center of James’s world. He shared his life with his wife, Donna Prunier. He was the beloved son of Christopher Carteris and the late Priscilla (Fawcett) Carteris. He is also reunited in memory with his son, Bryson Walsh. James’s love extends to his children, Brian Walsh and his longtime partner, Sarah Matton, Brittani Walsh, Ashley Baker and her husband, Scott, and Kayla Carteris. He was a proud grandfather to Sophia, Chloe, Gabriel, Aniya, Skylar, Brayden, Frankie, and Trevor. He is also remembered by his brother, David O’Regan and his wife, Mary; his sister, Debra O’Regan and her fiancé, William Baker; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Bully, who held a special place in his heart.

The family wishes to thank his doctors, Hospice, and his friends Eric and Howie for being there when he needed them most. James’s life was defined by his devotion to the people he loved and his determination to live fully in the present. His memory will remain in the stories, laughter, and everyday moments shared by those who knew him best.
