James Michael Gordon

James Michael Gordon, 62, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on August 15, 2025. Born on December 10, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York, James was known by all who loved him as funny, kind, and hard-working.

James had a passion for reading his Bible, listening to music, appreciating classic cars, spending time at the beach, tending to his plants, and an extreme talent in welding. He served in the Army Reserves and carried that sense of dedication and discipline throughout his life. Above all, his humor and kindness left a lasting mark on those around him. He had a gift for making people laugh and lift their spirits, often joking that he should have been a singer because of how much he loved to sing.

He often shared two sayings that reflected his values and wisdom:

“The saddest thing in life is wasted talent”

and

“They’re not taking you to heaven.”

These words, paired with his devotion to Jesus, guided his life and shaped the legacy he leaves behind.

James is survived by his daughter Tiffany and son-in-law David; granddaughter Ziona; grandsons Tyzyn, Ezra, Isaac, and Levi; and great-grandson Xion. He is also survived by his father George; brothers George III and Christopher; sisters Nancy, Kimberly, and Ashley; extended family members Jennifer, Justin, and Julius; and close friends Terry Rodrigues, Matt Clayton, Chris Ellis, and countless loved ones who were like family to him.

He will be remembered most for his hard work, his faith, and his love for Jesus, which anchored his life and gave strength to his family.
