Joseph J. Gabris

Joseph J. Gabris, 93, of Sarasota, FL quietly passed away on October 12, 2026, to join the love of his life, Gladys Gabris, just a few days before his 94th birthday.

Joseph was born on October 19, 1932 to Joseph and Eva Gabris in Waterbury, CT.

In 1957, Joseph met Gladys Nellis at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT.  Joe and Gladys married in 1959 and went onto raise four children, Joseph, Jeffery, Lori-Ann and David. Joe enjoyed six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In 1994, Joseph retired from Sargent Manufacturing Company as Vice President of Engineering in the Architectural Hardwareand Advance Access Control Division. He led his family with a quiet strength, a generous heart, and endless devotion.  Joe was a skilled Tradesman that took great pride in his work tackling any project or repair put in front of him.  Joe was somewhat of an introvert.  In a family setting he was asked, “why don’t you talk”?  Which he replied, “someone needs to listen!”.  Joe loved Golf, Broadway Musicals and traveling with his wife Gladys.

Joseph J. Gabris was preceded by his parents Joseph and Eva Gabris and brother Robert Gabris and survived by his Children, Joseph, Jeffrey, Lori-Ann and David.

A private family service will be held to honor both Joseph J.  Gabris’s and Gladys N. Gabris’s life as per their wishes.  The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
