Lizanne Basista, born on January 30, 1961, in Pittsburgh, passed away on September 15, 2026. Known for her beautiful spirit, love, and humor, Lizanne touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.
Lizanne's life was filled with music, travel, and moments spent at the beach with a good book. Her dedication to her career was evident in her 35 years in hotel and motel management at the Yankee Clipper Hotel, the Atlantic, and the Sea Club Resort, where she left a lasting mark on colleagues and guests alike.
She cherished her relationships with those she loved, including her fiancé Mark Lynch, her brother Larry Basista, her sister Lauren Doane, and her half-brother Ted Rutkowski. Among her close friends, Bobby Castiglia and John Lynch held special places in her heart. Lizanne also shared a deep bond with her beloved cat, Maxwell.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Moffitt Malignant Hematology & Cellular Therapy at Memorial Healthcare West, with special thanks to Cindy for her care and compassion.
In honor of Lizanne's life, contributions can be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, a cause close to her heart. She will always be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the love she spread endlessly.
