Maria De Los Angeles Montenegro
Maria De Los Angeles Montenegro, a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted Catholic, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. Born on October 2, 1954, in Cuba, Maria’s life was a testament to resilience, joy, and unwavering love for her family. She brought warmth and laughter wherever she went, leaving a lasting imprint on all who were blessed to know her.
From an early age, Maria radiated a fun, spirited energy that drew people in and made her the center of attention in any room. She embraced life fully, whether she was out late enjoying the night as a true “night rider” or simply spending the afternoon shopping—one of her favorite pastimes. Maria was known for her impeccable style and the delight she found in choosing just the right thing for herself and, more often, for those she loved.
Her greatest achievements were not measured in accolades, but in the roles she cherished most: mother and grandmother. Maria’s home was a gathering place filled with stories, music, laughter, and the gentle chaos of family life. Her Catholic faith guided her with quiet strength, and those who turned to her for counsel knew they would receive honesty, love, and, when needed, the firm reminder that she was a “tough cookie” who believed in facing life head-on.
Maria’s greatest joy was found in the people she loved. She is lovingly remembered by Monica Spitzer and Michael Spitzer; Gerardo, Candy, Annabella, Isabelle, Alessandra, and Angela Montenegro; Julian Torres; Celsa Prado; Carlos, Damilet, Elizabeth, and Angel Vidal; Gisela Vidal; and Angel Carlos Vidal. Each of their lives carries a piece of her spirit, her humor, and her unfailing devotion. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, Nero, who was a loyal companion and constant source of comfort.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Maria’s memory to a charity of your choice, honoring her generous heart and the love she freely shared.
Forever in our hearts, we thank you all for you outpouring of love and support.
