Mario Zerbini

Mario Arthur Zerbini, 72, passed away on Tuesday January 13th, 2026 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

Mario is survived by his son Sergio Zerbini, and four grandchildren, all residing in Sarasota, Florida.

Mario was born on February 7th, 1953 in Béchar, Algeria to Jean Pierre and Anna Marie Zerbini, two performers in the Zerbini family circus traveling across the Sahara Desert.

Mario, whose roots in the circus date back multiple generations, followed in his family’s footsteps spending much of his life as a performer in multiple circus shows all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

He was best known for his amazing acrobatic bareback horse riding. He lived an adventurous and spontaneous life, with many colorful memories shared over his years of traveling and performing.

In his later years, Mario enjoyed spending time with his son and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will live on through all those who knew and loved him.

In Mario’s honor, a Celebration of Life is planned at Showfolks of Sarasota on February 8th, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
