Michael Drysdale Blunt

Michael Drysdale Blunt, Mike, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 24th, 2026, with his son by his side.

Mike was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Florida as a baby. He was raised in Howey in the Hills and was a student at Lake City. He transferred to Riverview High School where he played football and earned a football scholarship to Kansas State.

After college, Mike went into the Navy from 1986 - 1989. He was honorably discharged due to physical reasons.

A lifelong musician, Mike was very involved in the community and you could usually find him at the Siesta Key drum circle on Sundays. He played in numerous bands, flag football, bartended for years and opened Funkshun in the mid 90’s, where many life long friendships were formed.

When Mike became a father, he transitioned to becoming a highly valued and loyal graphic designer, with the last eight years at Lee Designs, where he excelled and was deeply appreciated.

Mike is survived by his son, Zeke, his beloved dogs Kiko and Kona, mother Cyndi Rusche and father Stan Blunt.
