Michael Richard Fahrig, MSG., born on September 14, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, passed away on August 21, 2026. Known for his loving and caring nature, Michael’s life was a testament to his deep religious faith and his commitment to helping others.

Michael's adventurous spirit led him to fly across skies, dive into the ocean’s depths, and travel broadly, visiting every continent except the poles. His passions extended to woodworking and the intricate art of cane chair weaving. Michael dedicated 26 years to the U.S. Air Force and served an additional decade with the Department of Defense. After retiring from the Fairmont Fire Department, he continued to inspire and guide as he studied to be a deacon in the Catechesis at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

He touched the lives of many, from his beloved surviving family including wife, Mary (Negri), Isaac Ashraf, Sara Brennan, Luke Brennan, Aiden Brennan, Jo Sullivan, Jacki turner, Sarah Ann Demoine & J.T., Pat Brown, Jessica, Veronica, Ed, Phillips & Family, Percival St Ange, Fr Andra Filipucci. And in Italy, including PierAntonio and Elsa Negri, the St. Croix US Virgin Island family, David Fahrig, and Heather Fahrig. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister.

His wit was affectionately displayed in his favorite saying, often remarking, "You’re the best Italian cook, Elsa too! Mangia!" His journey included memorable moments like celebrating his 60th birthday with trips to the F-1 in Monza, Italy, and Oktoberfest in Munich where they got their first beer of the festival from the last wagon to enter!

Michael's devotion to peace and faith was evident in his relationships and daily life. He was supported and loved by many, including his wife Mary, and his family, both near and far. His service dogs, Baby and Lucky, along with pets Dolci, Bella, and Max, brought him great joy.

The family expresses profound gratitude to AdventHealth Hospice in Orlando and Winter Park, Florida, for their compassionate care in Michael's final days. In memory of a man who gave so much of himself, his legacy of caring deeply for peace and his steadfast belief in God will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

Mass will be held on October 27,2026 at All Souls Catholic Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims Florida.
