Milton Steve Hargus
Milton Steve Hargus, 79, died on June 24, 2026. He was born on December 12, 1946, in Stamford, Texas. A proud Texan by birth and spirit, Milton lived a life marked by independence, generosity, and a steadfast devotion to the people he cared about most.
Milton was often described as loving, kind, and headstrong—qualities that defined both his personality and the way he moved through the world. He retired from the United States Navy, a milestone that reflected his dedication and discipline. Following his military service, he built a career grounded in his background in electronics, bringing skill and technical knowledge to his work. Outside of his professional life, Milton had a well-known passion for keeping up with and vigorously discussing politics. He never shied away from sharing his opinions, and those conversations were a familiar and memorable part of time spent with him.
At his core, Milton was someone who would help anyone, even if he didn’t have much to give. His generosity was not measured by abundance, but by willingness. Those closest to him knew they could rely on his steady presence and practical support. The most important people in his life included his son, Kevin Hargus; his nieces, Miranda DeWitt and Samantha Hargus; his nephews, Bob Hargus and Steven Hargus; and his longtime friend and caregiver, Lisa Rosenbaum. Each of them held a meaningful place in his life, and he valued those relationships deeply.
Milton will be remembered for his kindness, his determination, and his readiness to lend a hand when it was needed. His life was one of service, loyalty, and unwavering conviction, and his memory will remain with those who knew him best.
