Nadine Ann Chaine, 36, of Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2026. Born on May 14, 1989, in Waterbury, Nadine lived a life that was as bright and unrestrained as her unforgettable smile. Adventurous, kindhearted, and wonderfully spontaneous, she had a way of lighting up every room she entered, her contagious laugh echoing long after she’d gone.

Nadine found her greatest joy outdoors, where the water, sun, and open sky matched her free spirit. She loved boating, hiking, exploring new places, and then coming home to cook and entertain the people she loved most. A natural host, she made everyone feel welcome at her table, often with a joke on her lips and a story that ended in her trademark “Woody the Woodpecker” laugh. Her work as an Authorized Wildlife Agent for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was more than a job; it was a calling. She was passionately devoted to protecting the wildlife and natural places that meant so much to her.

Deeply woven into the Harbor Isle community, Nadine was known not only for her smile, which could brighten even the hardest day, but also for her generosity and readiness to help. Family memories with Nadine are filled with laughter, including a beloved trip to SeaWorld, where her playful warning, “I swear to God, imma bit ya,” became a cherished family catchphrase that will be retold for years to come. She was the one who cheered, encouraged, and rallied everyone around her favorite words of determination: “Bring it on! We got this!”

Nadine is lovingly survived by her parents, Roger and Kathleen Chaine; her sister, Jessica Chaine, and Jessica’s significant other, Nicholas Damiano; and her treasured nieces and nephew, Riley, Logan, and Hailey, who adored their fun, spirited aunt. She is also survived by her grandmother, Arlene Chaine; her godparents, John and Michele Markie; her significant other, Kevin Steponaitis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Her faithful companion, Landon, was never far from her side. Nadine was predeceased by her beloved Poppy, Phillip Chaine.

Those who were blessed to know Nadine will remember her most for her open heart, her boundless generosity, and that unmistakable laugh that could turn an ordinary moment into something unforgettable. In the spirit of her favorite words, her family and friends will carry forward her legacy by meeting life’s challenges with courage, love, and the conviction that together, “We got this.”
