

Ornella Miriam Vecchiet
Ornella Miriam Vecchiet, age 92, of Parrish, Florida, previously of Plainfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026.
Miriam was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness, strength, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Paul (Janice) Vecchiet, Michelle Pearson, and Alex (Cindy) Vecchiet; her grandchildren, Jay Vecchiet, Stephanie (Gio) Gonzalez, Ryne (Kelsey) Pearson, Luke Pearson, Olivia (Benton) Polovina, Peyton (Jaden) Morris, and Zach Vecchiet; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Miriam was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Silvano; her parents, Primo and Elda Simonit; and her first “Pupa,” Arielle Vecchiet.
Miriam was a constant source of positivity, strength, and encouragement. Her devotion and perseverance helped build a strong foundation for her children and future generations of her family. Beyond her family, Miriam made a lasting impact through her involvement at the Carillon Senior Community, where she served as president of the social committee and led the singles club. She brought people together through themed dinners, outings, and bus trips to the city, creating joy, friendship, and lasting memories for countless residents.
Her warmth, energy, and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
