Otis Lee Thomas
Otis Lee Thomas passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 21. Born on January 16, 2004, in Tacoma, Washington, Otis will be remembered as brilliant, loving, astute, and studious—someone whose drive for excellence was matched only by his warmth and generosity of spirit.
Otis had a deep love for reading, learning new things, and helping and teaching others. He was a standout in everything he pursued, receiving 25 awards during his time working for Spectrum in recognition of his performance and leadership. To Otis, success was about more than accolades—it was about making a difference.
He found joy and purpose in sales, not just as a job but as a way to connect with others and help them grow. His commitment to excellence touched all areas of his life. He wanted the best for everyone close to him, and he showed it not only in words, but in actions—through kindness, care, and a deep desire to uplift others.
Otis was on a path of becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a journey that reflected his love for truth and spiritual growth. He dreamed of teaching others about Jehovah and the promises of everlasting life.
His love for family and friends ran deep. He had a rare gift for making others feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. The most important people in his life were his mom Loretta, dad Levan, grandparents, siblings, aunties, uncles, and nephews.
Those closest to him often heard his favorite sayings: “Obsession beats talent” and “Failure is not an option.” These words spoke to the fierce determination that shaped his life and inspired those around him.
His family ends with the following:
"We want to thank everyone who traveled to be here, and for all the support and prayers during this difficult time. We appreciate each and every one of you.”
