Patricia Marion

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Patricia Marion, a devoted mother, cherished GMA, beloved Nanny Boo, sister, aunt, family and friend to many. Patricia peacefully departed this life on July 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, faith, strength, and a family forever changed by her presence.

Patricia was born on June 26, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1977, she relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where she built a life rooted in family, friendship, and service. She remained in Omaha until 2010, when she made Orlando, Florida, her home, continuing to touch the lives of everyone she encountered with her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit.

Serving others was not simply something Patricia did—it was who she was. She found genuine joy in helping people and lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and selflessness. Her caring heart, listening ear, and willingness to put others before herself left an unforgettable impression on everyone blessed to know her.

In 2014, Patricia became one of the founding team members who helped open Encore at Avalon Park in Orlando, Florida. From its very beginning, she faithfully served the residents, their families, and her fellow team members with dedication, professionalism, and genuine compassion. She remained a loyal and committed employee until her passing. Patricia was deeply respected and admired by those who worked alongside her. Her kindness, dependability, servant's heart, and unwavering commitment made her an invaluable part of the Encore family, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family was the center of Patricia's world. She was known for her warm spirit, infectious laughter, unwavering strength, and remarkable ability to bring people together. Whether by birth, love, or marriage, Patricia welcomed others with open arms and made everyone feel like family. She loved deeply, gave generously, and created a lifetime of memories that will forever be treasured.

Above all, Patricia shared an extraordinary bond with her daughter, Shanta'. Their relationship was built on unconditional love, devotion, friendship, and a lifetime of cherished memories. The love they shared was evident to everyone who knew them—a bond that neither time nor death can ever diminish.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Shanta' Young (Rocardio) of Lakeland, Florida, and was blessed with children by love and marriage: Monique Hagans of New Jersey; Terri Crudup of Tampa, Florida; LaShawn Spencer; Gale Wilcox of Atlanta, Georgia; Catrella Gonzales; Sandie Kym Anthony; Toni Carr; Yvonne Averette; Taft Bowden of Omaha, Nebraska; Al James; and Albert (Tito) Scott of St. Louis, Missouri. Each held a special place in her heart and was loved beyond measure.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Tre'Von Wayne (Nicole) of Orlando, Florida, Justice Wayne of Davenport, Florida, and Jai'Koby Moore of Lakeland, Florida. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Isis Nicole Calender, and Isaiah Asir Calender, whose lives brought her immeasurable joy and continued her beautiful legacy of love.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Marion; her parents, Willie and Eloise Wayne; her brother, John Stanley Wayne; and her sister, Mary Johnston.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her loving siblings: Larry Wayne; April Scott (Steve); Sherry Pickens of St. Louis, Missouri; LaVerne' Danzie; Freddie Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; and Kaye Wayne of Omaha, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love, kindness, and beautiful spirit.

Patricia's life was a beautiful reflection of grace, resilience, compassion, and unconditional love. She never sought recognition for the countless lives she touched; she simply loved, served, and gave of herself wholeheartedly. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her kindness, wisdom, and the love she poured into others will continue to live on through every life she influenced.

One of the greatest gifts Patricia left her family was not found in words alone, but in the peace with which she faced life's final chapter. She said "I'm not afraid to die", leaving those she loved with an incredible legacy of unwavering faith, remarkable courage, and complete trust in God.

In her final days, Patricia possessed a deep, unshakable peace that could only come from the Lord. Even as her physical body grew weary, her spirit remained steadfast. Her calm assurance became a powerful testimony to everyone who witnessed her journey—a living reminder that faith is stronger than fear and that God's promises are true.

Her life, and even her passing, proclaimed a profound truth: no matter what happens to the physical body, it is well.

The words spoken in 2 Kings 4:26 beautifully reflect the peace she carried within her heart:

"...It is well." — 2 Kings 4:26

Those simple yet powerful words became more than a scripture—they became Patricia's final testimony. They speak of a faith that never wavered, a courage that never failed, and a peace that surpassed all understanding.

As we mourn her absence, we also celebrate the beautiful assurance she leaves behind. Patricia taught us that faith can overcome fear, that love never dies, and that for those who trust in God, there is peace beyond this life.

Her legacy will forever remind us to live with courage, love without reservation, trust God completely, and always remember these timeless words:
