

Peter J. Ferree
Peter J. Ferree, 74, of The Villages, FL passed away on October 22, 2025 in Sarasota, Fl. Pete was born in Battle Creek, MI, the third of five sons of Clifford M. and Barbara (Iden) Ferree. He graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1968, where he was a member of the wrestling team. He graduated from Kellogg Community College in 1970, and Western Michigan University in 1972.
Pete was a realtor in Battle Creek for over 40 years. He worked at the family business, Ferree’s Music Shop, and Metropolitan Life prior to becoming a realtor. He enjoyed playing golf and got his first hole-in-one in 1972. He and his brothers participated in the Chi Chi Charity Classic for multiple years. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan, and had fond memories of attending games with his grandparents, who held season tickets for decades. He played softball on the adult leagues at Bailey Park and bowled on leagues at Nottke’s Bowling Alley.
He was married to Linda Stone in 1971, and they had two children, Alison and David. He married Julie Dillon in 1980, and they had three children, Peter, Brian and Abby.
Pete retired to The Villages, Florida in 2018.
He is survived by his five children, Alison (Chris) Heatley of Dexter, MI; David (Ashley) Ferree of Dexter, MI; Peter (Tiffany) Ferree, Jr. of San Clemente, CA; Brian Ferree of Brooklyn, NY; and Abby Ferree of Pasadena, CA; brothers James Ferree, Robert (Jeri) Ferree, and Thomas (Tami) Ferree; nine grandchildren: Evan, Madeline, Kaeleigh, Zachary, Alexandra, William, Logan, Ethan, and Ronni, and three great-grandchildren, Brooks, Sawyer and Ada.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clifford M. Ferree and Barbara (Iden) Ferree, grandparents, Clayton A. (Johnny) Iden and Lora (Shaffner) Iden, his aunt, Joan Iden Bowie, his oldest brother, Gareth Ferree, niece, Christa Ferree, nephews, Clifford Ferree and Curtis Ferree, and grandson, Peter J. Ferree, III.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christa Ferree Scholarship Fund, payable to “The Battle Creek Community Foundation,” 32 W. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1, Battle Creek, MI 49017-9984.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
