Phyllis Amony Lee
Phyllis Amony Lee, 62, passed away on July 1, 2026. Born on May 29, 1964, in Berea, Ohio, Phyllis lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and deep faith. Caring, loving, and kind, she carried herself with a warmth that was immediately felt by those around her. Her Christian faith was central to her life and guided her enduring commitment to helping others.
Phyllis was especially passionate about supporting individuals and families affected by NF2. With determination and vision, she began the first-ever conference dedicated to those living with NF2 and was a proud member of the NF2 Crew. Her fighting spirit against the debilitating disease became one of the defining marks of her life. She was also known for her remarkable ability to organize events and bring people together with care and purpose. Whether planning a gathering or simply sharing a laugh, her radiant smile and generous heart left a lasting impression. She loved to travel and embraced new experiences with enthusiasm. Those closest to her fondly remember how she would say “obviously” loudly and with a laugh, a small but cherished reflection of her joyful personality.
The most important people in Phyllis’s life were her husband, Steve Lee; her nephew, Satchel Harp-Monseau; her sister, Susan Harp; and her mother, Joan Harp. She also adored her beloved cats, Fuji and Willow. Family and friends still smile at the memory of the time she enthusiastically hugged a group of people at her husband’s birthday dinner—only to discover she had walked into the wrong room and greeted a table of strangers. Moments like that captured her openhearted nature and willingness to embrace the world around her.
Phyllis will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her faith, and the love she extended so freely. In her memory, donations may be made to the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to friends near and far for their love and support during this time.
