
Raymond Jerome Rupinski
Raymond Jerome Rupinski, 71, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on July 11, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio. Ray will be remembered as a caring, affectionate, and supportive man whose greatest joy came from the people and community he loved.
Ray had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved listening to music, spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking for others, and enjoying outings to the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Cruising was another favorite pastime, offering him both relaxation and adventure.
Within his community at Camelot Lakes Village, Ray became especially known for starting karaoke nights, an initiative that quickly grew in popularity and continues to this day twice each month. He took great pride in bringing people together and creating opportunities for laughter, music, and shared memories. A devoted Catholic, Ray attended church whenever possible, drawing quiet strength and comfort from his faith.Ray was preceded in death by his father, Frank Rupinski; his mother, Delores (Chernis) Rupinski; and his brother-in-law, John Zehe.
Above all, Ray cherished his family. His sister, Francis Zehe; his children, Anna (Peter) Solomon and Lydia Rupinski; and his beloved granddaughter, Ellen Fay, were at the center of his heart. He shared a devoted partnership with Glenn, with whom he built a life filled with companionship, love, and care.
Ray also shared a special bond with his little "baby girl," his beloved Morkie, Pumpkin, who brought him endless joy. He loved spending time with friends, playing cards, and remaining actively involved in the community he proudly called home.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held on August 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Camelot Lakes Village Clubhouse, located at 5700 Camelot Lakes Parkway, Sarasota, Florida 34233.
Ray was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm for bringing people together will remain a lasting part of the community he helped strengthen and the lives he touched along the way.
