Richard John Dishman
Mr. Richard John Dishman, 83, passed away on April 3, 2026. Born on October 10, 1942, in Pinellas Park, Florida, Richard was a loyal husband, a faithful churchgoer, and a kind gentleman. Known to many as a devoted husband and a kind, loyal friend, he lived each day with quiet integrity and a generous heart.
A life of service and fellowship defined Richard’s years. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard, embracing duty to country with humility and resolve. As a Shriner and an active member of the Lions Club, he gave generously of his time and resources, supporting the Boy Scouts, men’s recovery groups, and countless charities. He found joy on the golf course and on the open sea as an avid cruise-ship traveler, savoring new horizons and the easy camaraderie of fellow travelers. His spiritual home was First United Methodist Church (F.U.M.C.) of Pinellas Park, where his faithful attendance, helping hands, and steady encouragement quietly lifted others. When asked how he was doing, he often answered with a warm smile and his trademark words, “Doin Fine.”
Above all, Richard cherished his marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife, the center of his world, and by a wide circle of friends, particularly his church family at F.U.M.C. of Pinellas Park. Those who worshiped alongside him will remember his reliability in the pews, his ready kindness, and his respectful courtesy. If he is to be remembered for one thing, let it be his unwavering faithfulness—especially in attending church—and the gentle strength he shared so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First United.
