Richard Lee Gray Jr.

Richard Lee Gray Jr., age 64, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on October 23, 2025.

Richard was born on August 19, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, to Richard Gray Sr. and Helene Delores Gray. He grew up with a gift for creativity, and a love for animals, books, history, and sports. Throughout his life, he was known for his humor, determination, knowledge, and writing.

He served in the United States Air Force and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of the Incarnate Word. Outside of work, he loved caring for his unique fish and creating beautiful habitats for them, going to the beach, watching sci-fi, writing, reading, and listening to music. He never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite football team or proudly represent their logo and colors.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Helene Gray. He is survived by his daughters, Jamil and Shaina; his father; three sisters; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Richard will forever be remembered for his fun and humorous spirit, dedication, talent, passion, and big heart. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
