With deep sadness and love, we announce the passing of Robert Alan Risher, 80, on February 27, 2026 after a long battle filled with courage and grace.  He was born on October 25, 1945 in Chevelry, Maryland and was the son of the late Ralph Lyndale and Dorothy Angeline Risher.  He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Young-Risher, dear daughter Jennifer Mehrhof and son-in-law Adam, son Jeff Risher and daughter-in-law Megan, grandchildren Colby Jones and Morgan Jones, stepson Eric Resconich, his loving siblings, Doug (Kathy) Risher, Steve (Phyllis) Risher, and Ron (Mindy) Risher and his many nieces and nephews.

Bob (Bobbo, Brady) grew up in Redford Township, Michigan.  He graduated from Thurston High School and was on the school wrestling team for 3 years.  After graduation he decided to go into the real estate business.  While in High School, he had worked at Scotty’s Fish and Chips and really enjoyed it, so when the opportunity to purchase the restaurant presented itself, he made the decision to go into the restaurant business.  After several years, a friend he had met while doing real estate, talked to him about the mortgage business and Bob found his calling.  He loved the business and the relationships he built while helping people purchase their homes. When work slowed down in the late 70’s, Bob made the decision to purchase a restaurant in Northern Michigan and moved his family to the town of Indian River.  They named the restaurant Bob and Sue’s.  He remained in Indian River for several years, but eventually decided to move back to downstate Michigan and continue in the mortgage business. This was his passion and career until he retired in 2010.

Bob was known for his great sense of humor, his passion for life and the love for his family and friends.  It was said that he was also the best storyteller around.  Whether they were 100% true or not, one never knew.  He exuded happiness and joy and always had a smile on his face.  He was also described as a nurturer.  He gave many people their first jobs and would encourage them to be the best they could be.  In his free time, Bob loved golfing and boating and he was a loyal fan of his Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football program.  He belonged to Chemung Country Club for several years and later joined Lakeland Golf and Country Club.  The majority of his boating days were spent in Indian River, Michigan on Burt Lake and Mullett Lake which is where he spent his summers as a child.  In later years he was able to have many boating trips on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.

The family would like to thank his nurses and aides at Tidewell Hospice, his caregiver and all of their family and friends for their love and support.  A celebration of Bob’s Life will be held this summer in Michigan.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:

Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or Tidewell Hospice of Florida
