

Robert “Bob” Thomas Profita
Robert “Bob” Thomas Profita, 82, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Robert was an Army Veteran who proudly served his country before building a life centered on family, friendship, and community.
Bob will be remembered for his energetic and social spirit, his love of woodworking, playing the organ, and tackling outdoor projects. He had an outgoing nature and a deep love of people that drew everyone to him. His charisma and warmth made him the heart of every gathering.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Profita, his children Russel, Robert, Regina, and Theresa, as well as 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother James. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Lucille Profita, and his brother Charles.
A proud Army Veteran and member of AmVets, Bob believed in service, hard work, and living life fully. His family will fondly remember his laughter, his sense of humor, and his endless curiosity about the world around him.
Bob also shared a special bond with his pets — Bobby the bird, and his dogs Bear, Toby, and Max, along with Leo the cat — who brought him daily joy and companionship.
The Profita family wishes to thank all of the nurses and hospice caregivers who kept Robert comfortable and well cared for at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. They also extend their gratitude to the friends and extended family who offered care, kindness, and steady support during this time.
Bob’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and compassion.
