Bob, 73, is survived by his beloved and devoted partner, Raynaldo Martin. Bob is the cherished son of the late Carl and Nancy (nee Testa) Cefaratti. Bob was a loving brother to the late Carla, Anthony (Erich Andrews), and Lee Ann Guzik (Marty). Bob is the cherished grandson of the late Antonio and Concetta (nee Grano) Cefaratti and the late Lena Testa (nee Bonaventura). Bob is a beloved nephew and cousin to many. Bob easily made many friends throughout his life and will be missed by all, in particular, Stephanie Anderson of Washington, DC, Jane Colgrove of Washington, DC, Tony Weisberg of Bethesda, MD and Miami, FL, Patricia and Michael Lindt of Bethesda, MD, Evelyn and Charles Maynard of Richmond, VA, and Carol Krestel of Northfield, OH.

Bob was born in Cleveland, OH in 1953, he graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. While at university, Bob participated in two off-campus programs. First at Oxford University, Oxford, England History and Literature and second at Drew University, Madison, New Jersey-United Nations. He continued his education and was accepted in the MBA program from Stanford University where he completed earning a Master’s Degree in Business. Bob grew up in South Euclid, OH and lived in Silver Spring, MD, Chevy Chase, MD and Washington, DC. In Washington, DC one of Bob’s first jobs following graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University, was working for the Department of Labor as an International Labor Specialist. Eventually, Bob had a successful career at IBM, retiring as an Executive Director of Healthcare Payer, Global Business Services for 28 years.

Bob enjoyed international travel, particularly to France, which he visited several times each year. He had a deep appreciation for historic sites and architecture, art, classical jazz, music from the George Gershwin era, fine dining, great wine, and reading. In his later years, he became an accomplished cook and spent each winter in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area with Raynaldo. He was especially fond of Barbra Streisand’s rendition of “People,” which he listened to often. He loved interacting with people and maintained an optimistic outlook on life. He also had a strong interest in cycling, exercise and fitness, dog care, and volunteering.

Bob will be remembered for his outgoing, good-natured personality, and his love of family, friends, and culture.
