Robert Diaz
Robert Diaz, 53, passed away on June 20, 2026. He was born on July 2, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois. Robert will be remembered as a loving, caring, and hilarious man whose greatest pride and purpose in life was being a father.
Above all else, Robert was devoted to his three sons, Robert, Alex, and Chris. He often said that the best thing he had ever done was helping create his three boys, a statement that reflected both his deep love and his sense of humor. He was known for his generosity, always looking out for everyone’s needs and providing wherever he could. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a helping hand, or simply sharing his time, Robert made sure the people around him felt supported. He was a natural storyteller who could turn even the simplest moment into something unforgettable, and his humor was a constant presence in the lives of those who knew him. His favorite phrase, “playa playa,” delivered in his unmistakable way, never failed to bring a smile.
Some of the most cherished memories his sons hold are filled with laughter. One favorite story recalls a family trip to GameStop, when Robert unknowingly walked around with a large rip in the back of his pants. His boys let him continue on until he finally realized it himself. Though he was embarrassed in the moment, the laughter they all shared afterward became one of those stories retold again and again—a perfect example of his ability to find humor in life’s little mishaps.
Robert’s life centered on the people he loved most, including his sons, his ex-wife Indira, and his daughter-in-law Lexi. He will be remembered for his generosity, his stories, and the way he showed up for his family time and time again. His family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff for their hard efforts in trying everything possible to help their dad and for giving them a little more time to spend with him. His legacy lives on in the laughter, strength, and love he gave so freely.
