Robert Emmett Reightler, III
Robert Emmett Reightler, III, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on May 18, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, Robert—known to everyone as Bob—was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Bob proudly served as a Baltimore County Firefighter/EMT at Station No. 5 for ten years before beginning a new chapter in his career. He went on to spend 35 years as an award-winning salesman for Tyco Fire Systems, earning recognition for his dedication and hard work. Whether in public service or sales, Bob was a man of integrity and commitment.
Outside of work, Bob’s passions included golf and music. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church and a beloved part of The Brotherhood golf group, where his joyful spirit and camaraderie were always appreciated.
Bob was known for being a loving husband and father, a good person, and a loyal friend. He made it a priority to be present for his children’s sports games—memories that his family treasures to this day. His life was defined by generosity, and he gave selflessly to those around him.
Bob is survived by his son Robert Reightler and Robert’s wife Cathy, and by his son Donald Reightler. He was the proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his loving sister Bonnie Reightler, and was preceded in death by his father Robert Reightler, Jr., his mother Harriet Reightler, his brothers Richard, Rande, and Ronald Reightler, and his beloved wife Norma Reightler, with whom he shared a wonderful life.
Bob’s memory lives on in the hearts of his family, church community, golf companions, and all whose lives he touched.
As his family beautifully shared:
"Bob is walking with His Savior, and we shall see him again face to face."
