Ronald James Breen, devoted, tenacious, and intelligent, passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on March 7, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Ron built a life defined by faith, family, and the joy of solving problems others thought impossible. A man of quiet humility and boundless curiosity, he was a beloved husband to Carol and a steadfast member of the Word of Life Church family. Those who knew Ron will remember his ready smile, his thoughtful questions, and his unshakable desire to understand how things worked—qualities that made him a trusted friend and a guide through life’s puzzles.

From the time he could hold a model kit, Ron’s hands were rarely idle. He found deep satisfaction in building models and shaping wood into things both useful and beautiful, always engineering solutions that married precision with care. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a milestone that reflected his disciplined mind and practical wisdom. Whether restoring a piece of furniture, sketching a fix on a scrap of paper, or patiently troubleshooting a balky hinge, Ron approached each task as an opportunity to learn and to serve. Creative problem solving wasn’t a talent he owned; it was a gift he shared, freely and joyfully.

Family was Ron’s proudest achievement. Carol was the great love of his life and the companion he cherished in every season. He was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren and a delighted great grandfather to one, a patient teacher at the card table and an enthusiastic partner in every game, where laughter and gentle lessons came in equal measure. At home, Ron found quiet comfort in the company of their cat, Kitt. Above all, his family knew they could count on him for clear headed advice, a steady hand, and the assurance that no problem was too small to merit his full attention.

Ron’s loved ones will announce memorial arrangements at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Word of Life Church in North Port, Florida. The family extends heartfelt thanks to their many relatives and friends for the prayers offered over the past several months. Ron fought the good fight and now rests with his Savior. Special gratitude is offered to the Affinity Hospice staff for their prayers and the compassionate caregivers who kept him safe and comfortable in his final days. May Ron be remembered for the help he gladly gave and the love he quietly, steadfastly lived.
