Ronald Lee Jordan
Ronald Lee Jordan, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida, on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on June 7, 1939, in Covington, Kentucky.
Ron will be remembered as a kind and hardworking man, a true gentleman with a quick wit and a gift for making others feel welcome. Whether through his humor, or his unwavering devotion to family and friends, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Born and raised in northern Kentucky, Ron's remarkable intelligence was evident from an early age. A gifted student, he advanced from sixth grade directly to ninth grade and graduated from high school at just 15 years old. Although he did not complete college, his talent, determination, and natural ability to connect with people led to a highly successful career in sales, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. After a successful career as a sales executive in the automotive industry, he embarked on a second career in real estate and achieved equal success, bringing the same dedication, integrity, and enthusiasm to everything he did.
Ron approached life with energy and curiosity. He loved golf, tennis, reading, and spirited conversation, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family. He had a special gift with children—a true baby whisperer who could soothe even the fussiest grandchild to sleep. As "Papa," he never stopped playing. He happily became the goofball in every joke, the willing participant in every game, and the source of countless laughs and cherished memories. And with his remarkable knack for fixing things, there wasn’t much he couldn’t repair.
The people Ron loved most were his family. Charlotte, his beloved wife of 66 years, was the love of his life and his partner in every sense of the word. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and laughter. He cherished his children, Jeff, Denise (Mike), and Tina (Kevin); his grandchildren, Kelly (Megan), MJ (Caroline), Zach, Kevin (Olivia), Patrick, Shelby, Samantha, Charlotte, Riley, Grace, and Jake; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Peter, Henry, Archer, Daniel, Stephen and Mason. He also shared a special bond with his siblings, Marianne, Marcia, Michele, David, and Joe, and their families.
Ron loved to entertain, and few things made him happier than hosting a good Happy Hour. It was a cherished nightly ritual he shared with Charlotte—a time to unwind, connect, and enjoy each other's company. When the grandchildren visited, Happy Hour became an even more special occasion. Ron delighted in setting out soft drinks and candy just for them so they could join in the tradition. He took particular pleasure in bending the rules and spoiling them with treats that weren't always allowed at home. Around his table, laughter was plentiful, stories were shared, and conversation flowed freely. Those moments of togetherness became some of the family's most treasured memories.
Golf remained one of Ron's lifelong passions, though one family story stands above all others. Despite decades of dedication, thousands of rounds, and an unwavering belief that the next shot would be "the one," Ron never managed to catch up to Charlotte in one important category. She recorded more holes-in-one than he did—a fact she graciously reminded him of at every available opportunity. Though he searched tirelessly for an equalizer, he eventually accepted that some records are simply untouchable.
While Ron built a wonderful life in many places, his heart never strayed far from Kentucky. His connection to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in California, Kentucky, remained strong throughout his life. He and Charlotte were married there in 1960, all three of their children attended its school, and generations of family memories were rooted in that small community. California, Kentucky, may not have streetlights, a grocery store, a post office, or a gas station, but it has always had Sts. Peter and Paul—the heart of the town and a place that held profound meaning for Ron. In his final days, when a priest administering his last rites asked what parish he belonged to, Ron answered without hesitation: "Sts. Peter and Paul."
A private celebration of Ron's life will be held with family in August.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Ron Jordan to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, 2162 California Crossroads, California, Kentucky 41007. Donations will ensure that future generations can continue to benefit from the same education and community that meant so much to Ron throughout his life.
