Ronald Roy Roese
Ronald Roy Roese, patient, wise, and kind, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on March 1, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Ronald lived a life marked by deep faith, steadfast love for his family, and a gentle strength that guided those around him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and a gifted storyteller whose presence brought comfort and joy to many.
From an early age, Ronald possessed a quiet curiosity and a steady character that would define his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped his sense of duty, discipline, and appreciation for freedom. One of the most meaningful milestones in his life was accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His faith was not only professed but lived—seen in his patience, generosity, and the way he treated others with kindness and respect.
Ronald had a passion for the open road and the simple pleasures of a life well-lived. He loved traveling and going on cruises, finding joy in seeing new places and sharing those adventures with those he loved. His Harley-Davidson was a favorite companion, and he took great pride in restoring his 1939 Chevy truck, pouring time and care into bringing a piece of history back to life. He was an active member of SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, honoring the legacy of those who came before him. Above all, he was known for his storytelling—family and friends often gathered to listen as he recounted memories, lessons, and wisdom, often punctuated by his favorite saying: “If it makes you happy or your life easier, then get it.”
Ronald’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Cynthia; their children Brandon (Jamie), Eric, Cara Jo (Scott), Jared, and Karen; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride of his life. He is also survived by his siblings Frank and Betsy. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Roese, and a cherished great-grandson. His love for God and his family was the constant thread running through every chapter of his life.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance, gratitude, and hope. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Arcadia Center for the Needy in Ronald’s honor. Though he is no longer with us in body, Ronald’s faith, his stories, and the love he so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
