Ryder Michael Floyd, age 15, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on September 29, 2025, from complications related to Type 1 Diabetes. Though his years were far too few, Ryder’s life was filled with love, laughter, and a spirit that inspired everyone who knew him.

Ryder’s passion for golf was unmatched. A dedicated junior golfer, he practiced and played every day, always pushing himself to improve. He loved the challenge of the game—but just as much, he loved the camaraderie that came with it, especially when he could sneak in a friendly bet with his friends or catch an opponent off guard with his competitive grin.

A proud 9th grader at Mt. Paran Christian School, Ryder was known for his kindness, humor, and ability to make others feel at ease. He played baseball for most of his life, creating friendships and memories that went far beyond the field. Ryder also enjoyed making art, exploring his creative side, and was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds—rooting for his teams with unshakable devotion.

Ryder’s greatest gift was his ability to make people laugh. He had a quick wit, a playful heart, and a smile that could light up any room. His friends, teammates, teachers, and family will forever remember the joy he brought into their lives and the way he made everyday moments feel brighter.

He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his parents, Hollie and Erik Caldwell; his brothers, Spencer and Carter Floyd; his grandparents, Michael and Linda Graham, Phil and Linda Floyd and Jerry and Gail Caldwell; his nanny, Ethel “Nana” Lawrence; his extended family; his teammates and coaches; his classmates; and his many friends who were blessed to know him. We take comfort in knowing his gentle soul is at peace, reunited with his late father, Matthew Floyd, and surrounded by eternal love.

A service celebrating Ryder’s life will be held on September 16th at 11 a.m. at Mount Paran Christian School. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ryder’s honor to Breakthrough T1D Walk 2025, helping advance the fight for a world without Type 1 Diabetes.
