Steven Blake Bray
Steven Blake Bray, born on August 2, 1943, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, passed away on September 22, 2026. Known for his extraordinary kindness, generosity, and loyalty, Steven was a man who dedicated his life to serving others. His heart was always open, and his selflessness touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of courage and compassion.
Steven's life was defined by service, from being one of the last civilians evacuated from the American Embassy in Saigon to founding an organization that provided employment for disabled Vietnam veterans. His generosity extended far beyond his achievements, as he helped many escape communism in search of a better life. Despite these extraordinary accomplishments, Steven remained humble, never seeking recognition but always embodying integrity and honesty.
Passionate about current events and gardening, Steven found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with his granddaughter, Olivia, holding a special place in his heart. His home radiated warmth and welcome, and he was known for his infectious laugh and the genuine care he showed to those around him.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Bessy, his daughter Monica, and his cherished granddaughter Olivia. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness and service continues to inspire all who knew him.
The family expresses gratitude to Team Topaz of the Cornerstone Hospice for their care and support. Memorial and charity details will be provided at a later date.
