Wallace Jackie Edge
Wallace Jackie Edge passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, just shy of his 73rd birthday, while in hospice care in Wimauma, Florida. A native of Miami, Wallace was known for his deep faith, loyal heart, and gift for making others laugh. He had a way of making people feel seen and supported – often through humor, always with love.
Wallace worked for many years as a skilled equipment operator in road construction, a job he took great pride in. Early in his career, he was recognized with an award for paving the perfect stretch of road on his very first try. He loved working with his hands and solving problems – qualities that extended into his hobbies, whether building his own computer from scratch or tinkering with electronics and gadgets.
His passions also included playing the guitar, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. A man of strong faith, Wallace was a devoted member of the Church of God and lived each day with a quiet conviction and a simple motto: “It is what it is.” Those closest to him admired his sense of humor, his steadfast devotion to family, and his unwavering trust in God.
Wallace is survived by his beloved wife, Shelby, five children, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. His wide circle of family and friends will always remember his laugh, his loyalty, and the love he gave so freely. As a young boy, he adored his horse, Sugarfoot– one of his earliest expressions of the deep care he carried throughout his life.
Wallace lived with intention – always placing God first, but never far behind were the people he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Wallace’s life will be held in Wimauma, Florida on Saturday, July 19th at 4:00 p.m.
